Grief, Loss and Bereavement Counselling
Feelings of grief are deeply ingrained and considered so natural that they are typically not diagnosed like anxiety or depression. Grieving has no predefined path or quick solution, but there are strategies to help navigate the process.

After a loss, experiencing a range of emotions is normal, and the weight of grief can feel overwhelming. Grief is an emotional and physical response to losing someone or something significant, marked by intense feelings of sadness and a longing to be reunited. Physical manifestations may include numbness, emptiness, and frustration with oneself for not coping. Anger can be present, and external pressures to move forward may exacerbate your struggles.
Grief is not only an emotional but also a physical experience, impacting eating, sleeping, and overall well-being. These feelings may ebb and flow, creating a tumultuous journey. Despite the pain, grieving is a crucial part of reconciling with loss.
Acknowledging the intense feelings during grief is vital. There is no universal method for grieving, and unfortunately, no quick remedy.

"Death is the last great taboo" (Samuel, 2019).
The process, thoughts, and feelings will often feel awful, but by grieving openly without limitations, it is possible to learn to move forwards without a loved one (Morris, 2018).

Worden's (2018) tasks of grieving refer to the four processes that individuals go through when grieving.

1. Accepting the reality of the loss
2. Experiencing the pain of grief
3. Adjusting to life without the deceased
4. Maintaining a meaningful connection with the deceased while moving forward.
